5 Tips to buy a domain in Blogger

Last year I bought a domain in Blogger. Com for one of my blogs. Everything worked fine until I wanted to renew the domain. Then I saw that he was involved in trouble that threatened the renewal. For weeks, tried everything: messages to Google Apps , forums and dozens of pages. Finally I could not do anything and a hunter in Indonesia bought my domain. Com with the intention of revendermelo (do not give a penny). Following this experience I decided to write this post with tips to help others avoid making the same mistakes, and learn about certain aspects purchase domains in Blogger.

1. ACCOUNT GOOGLE APPS. When buying a domain in Blogger you "give" free Google Apps account . This account was never able to enter despite my dozens of messages to the e-mail that Google gives to handle such cases. The problem is that the Apps account is indispensable in order to renew the domain. My advice is do not rely on this account because in some cases you can not access it and no one will help Google.

2. BOX OF AUTOMATIC RENEWAL. This option appears in the buying process. Not mark, beating the year to purchase the domain, this may be available to others. If the idea is to have a long self recommend term mark.

3. BLOGGER WHO WILL BUY THE DOMAIN. Domains that are purchased through Blogger are actually purchased GoDaddy but not appear as the buyer. As a buyer of Google Apps domain will appear, which as you infer, you can cause problems.

4. TIME OF GRACE. When the year ends you paid for your domain you have about 40 day grace period to renew (Redemption Period), then there is a "pending delete" (Pending Delete) last 5 days have to renew it. Completion of these periods the domain is free to be bought by anyone.

5. HUNTERS OF DOMAINS. Also called cybersquatters. They are a mafia that holds literally millions of dollars a year, made by unscrupulous persons who exploit the mistakes of others to purchase or renew their domains. Through Web sites are aware of when domains expire and hope the right time to buy and resell after its former owners for large sums. In my case the hunter purchased expire within minutes and redirected to a blog prefabricated which never published anything because it is waiting for him to write. How do you ask? Then there are pages www.whois.sc in which you type a Web address and then show a report with the buyer's name, location and email address. So I know his name, I have your email and I know that lives in Indonesia. It was even easy to find your Twitter. My advice is do everything possible to avoid reaching this point, you pay nothing, and if they establish communication via mail to the hunter: keep your posts to show a possible blackmail. Although true, the law is still quite weak to deal with this type of crime.

I hope these tips help those who are first to buy a domain for their blogs through Blogger, so that then do not be disappointed and have to deal with a dealer who did not even understand your language.
